Introducing AIAVT's New Disaster Assistance Coordinators
The AIAVT Board of Directors approved Steve Kredell, AIA of gbArchitecture, and Colleen Perron, AIA of Freeman French Freeman as the chapter's new volunteer Disaster Assistance Coordinators. Steve and Colleen will be taking over this role from Brian Leet, AIA. Brian served the chapter as Disaster Assistance Coordinator for six years, and will be passing along his knowledge and resources to Steve and Colleen. AIA Vermont's Board of Directors is grateful to Brian Leet for serving AIAVT in this position.
As disasters increase in frequency and intensity across the country, communities now more than ever need the help of architects to address unprecedented challenges. Our Disaster Assistance Coordinators helps the chapter to build the knowledge and skills to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Members who are interested in helping out in the aftermath of a disaster can take part in the Safety Assessment Program SAP Training to get certified as a building evaluator through the nationally recognized Safety Assessment Program (SAP) and help communities recover faster after disasters.
Details on an upcoming SAP training offered by AIANY are availabe here.
