Flying Discs and Friendly Rivalries: AIAVT and ABC VT/NH Team Up Again

On July 23rd, members and friends of AIA Vermont gathered at Smugglers' Notch Disc Golf Course for the chapter's annual Disc Golf Tournament, held for the second year in partnership with ABC VT/NH. The event, an AIA Vermont tradition since 2022, brought together architects, contractors, and community partners for a day of friendly competition and camaraderie on the course.

Run as a Trilogy Challenge Tournament, each player receives a set of three discs that must be used for the tournament, meaning everyone is competing with the same set up. It's a great way to introduce the sport to those who have little or even no experience, and gives players a set of discs to take home with them.

Several talented teams came out with strong scores. First place went to Josh Chafe and Cam Featherstonhaugh of TruexCullins. Second place was won by Luke O'Neill of Acrisure and Andrew Powell of Commercial Door Company. Third place ended in a tie between ABC's Adam Francis and James Saathoff, and Simpson Cabinetry's Daniel Carhart and Scott Brown.

Special thanks to our Tournament Underwriter, Rice Lumber & Andersen Windows, and to everyone who played and helped organize the event. We're grateful to Smugglers' Notch for hosting us, and we look forward to continuing this tradition alongside our partners at ABC VT/NH.
