Senior Laboratory Planner

Senior Laboratory Planner University of Massachusetts Amherst

Under the general direction of the Director, Design & Construction Management, this position is responsible for coordinating university laboratory space utilizing directives of Design & Construction Management with other Administration and Finance areas, Academic Affairs, and Research and Engagement areas.

Responsibilities:
• Leads all phases of lab planning including programming, planning, feasibility, scope and concept development by defining and developing client relationships.
• Conveys the technical aspects of user needs to Design & Construction Management, coordinating and supervising placement/relocation of research equipment and biological/chemical materials, overseeing management of assets for estimating costing, developing laboratory design standards and reviewing laboratory design.
• Consults and acts as a resource for all parties to efficiently utilize university space during renovations or new construction and fit out of new space.
