Silent Auction Opens for AIAVT "Flip the Switch" Furniture Competition

Congratulations to Joshua Deutsch for winning first place with "Weathered"!

The 2026 AIAVT Furniture Design Competition opened this weekend at the Montgomery Center for the Arts. Eleven competitiors entered their take on the design prompt: Free standing illuminating device, and the results ranged from recycled wooden piers to hand felted wool being turned into light fixtures.  The winning entry was announced, congratulations to Joshua Deutsch on winning first place with "Weathered"! 

The majority of the entries are now available for purchase as part of the online silent auction, which runs until June 28th at 5pm, with most opening bids starting at $50. 

Your bids help fund AIA Vermont's various advocacy and educational programs AND will help fund Montgomery Center for the Arts historic building restoration efforts. MCAVT is dedicated to enhancing the vitality of life in our local regional communities by providing a venue for a diversity of educational, cultural, artistic, and social experiences.
