AIA Vermont's Annual Golf Tournament Raises Funds for Scholarships
On a beautiful late-summer day in Williston, Vermont, members and friends of AIA Vermont gathered for the Annual Guy Teschmacher Memorial Golf Tournament. This beloved tradition brought together architects, colleagues, and community partners for a day of camaraderie on the course while raising funds to support the next generation of designers.
The tournament was not only a chance to enjoy friendly competition, but also a meaningful opportunity to give back. Proceeds from the event directly benefit AIA Vermont’s scholarship fund, which provides financial assistance to aspiring architecture students pursuing their education. Thanks to the generosity of our participants and sponsors, this year’s tournament raised a significant contribution to help ensure that talented students can thrive and enter the profession.
While the tournament is open to players of all levels, it is not without some friendly competition. Several talented teams came out with impressive scores, with third place going to the Crown Point Cabinetry team. Second place was won by the BNJ Engineering team, and the Pella team took home first place. We also saw Phil Blondo take home the Men's Longest Drive, Chi Nguyen got the Women's Longest Drive, and John Alden and Kurt Muller won the closest to the pin competitions. Our putting contest was a 50/50 raffle, won by Josh Tappan of the Whiting-Turner team.
Special thanks to our Tournament Underwriter, Windows & Doors by Brownell, and to our Lunch Sponsor, Sherwin Williams. We extend our gratitude to all who played, volunteered, and sponsored the event, and to the Williston course staff for hosting us. The Annual Guy Teschmacher Golf Tournament continues to honor Guy Teschmacher's legacy by combining fellowship, fun, and philanthropy in service of Vermont’s architectural community.
