A Letter from 2026 AIAVT President

As we step into the spring, I want to start by saying thank you for your trust, your engagement, and your commitment to AIA Vermont. It is truly an honor to serve this community as President.

We are at an inflection point. Our profession is being asked to respond to complex challenges like housing, climate, and equity while also redefining its future. To meet this moment, we need to think differently, outside the box and beyond our borders, and stay open to learning from other places and perspectives.

At the same time, what makes this chapter special is our people. AIA Vermont should continue to be a place where members feel connected, supported, and inspired, no matter where they are in their careers.

This year, I am focused on supporting emerging professionals, strengthening connections between generations, fostering a real sense of belonging, and expanding our global engagement. These are simple ideas, but they matter, and they will help shape where we go next.

I am excited to see some of this already happening. The first episode of our EPN podcast brings emerging professionals and seasoned members into the same conversation in a meaningful way. We are also looking outward with the upcoming trip to Colombia, and I encourage anyone interested to take a moment to fill out the survey and help shape that experience.

I invite you to stay engaged, share your ideas, and be part of what comes next. The future of AIA Vermont is something we build together.

Wishing you all a year of inspiration, growth, and meaningful work.
