AIAVT Announces 2022 Scholarship Recipients
At the AIAVT Annual Meeting and Design Awards event, the recipients of this year’s scholarship awards were announced. The AIAVT Scholarship awards are made possible through the Hanne N. Williams Scholars Fund, which derives support from the AIAVT Annual Guy Teschmacher Memorial Golf Tournament, the AIA National Component Matching Grant Program, and other sources. Tom Bachman Wins 2022 John Dale Award
Winner of the 2022 John Dale Thinker & Collaborator Award: Tom Bachman, AIA of gbA Architects
This award was created in honor of the late John Dale, who dedicated his service to AIAVT for several years and passed away during his term as 2020 president. This peer nomination award recognizes an AIAVT member architect who dedicates their time both to the profession and to their community, and who, like John, is a thoughtful leader, and an advocate for diversity and social equity.

AIAVT 2022 Annual Design Award Winners Announced
The American Institute of Architects, Vermont Chapter (AIAVT) announced the recipients of its 2022 Excellence in Architecture Design Awards program at its annual meeting, held on December 9, 2022. Five projects were chosen for demonstrating an “excellence in design” from twenty four entries submitted by AIAVT member architects.
The jurors, all members of AIA Central Washington, included Melissa McCoy, AIA, Erik Becker, AIA, Flavien Sawadogo, AIA, and Steve Mallory, AIA. The jury was asked to consider granting awards using the AIA “Framework for Design Excellence” as their judging criteria.
