Please join the Vermont Green Building Network (VGBN) for this educational webinar focused on the impacts of building electrification in Vermont.

Strategic electrification of Vermont’s heating systems is central to the State’s Greenhouse Gas reduction efforts. This webinar will feature two presentations that will discuss Vermont’s energy portfolio, environmental considerations of heating with different technologies as well as life cycle comparison of fossil fuel vs. heat pumps.

This webinar will explore:

Where does Vermont electricity come from?
What are the environmental considerations for choosing between fossil fuel and all electric Air Source Heat Pump heating systems?
How does this impact Vermont’s goals and policies regarding electrification and greenhouse gas emissions?
Join us for presentations and an interactive Q+A to discuss this timely topic of electrifying our buildings.

Featured speakers and panelists are as follows:

Steve O'Malley is a Lead Engineering Consultant at Efficiency Vermont who specializes in building science and the new construction and retrofit of commercial and multifamily buildings. He builds and advances key relationships within the design and building community to promote the installation of cost-effective, energy-efficiency improvements to all building systems.

Mary Jane Poynter is a Lead Engineer at VEIC. She specializes in commercial, government, industrial, and multifamily building energy projects, working primarily with Efficiency Vermont. Mary Jane is a Certified Energy Manager, a certified master gardener, and a 20-year member of her local ASHRAE chapter.
