Destination Colombia EPN Design Competition

RSVP To Join us for the Destination Colombia Kick Off event! 

Destination Colombia is a design competition for Emerging Professionals in the Vermont architectural community, hosted by AIAVT's Emerging Professionals Network (EPN) in partnership with Windows & Doors by Brownell + Marvin.

Please RSVP for this launch event where we'll reveal the design prompt and share how to compete for the grand prize: a trip to Colombia with AIAVT in March of 2027! Join in-person at Windows & Doors by Brownell's showroom to enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages, or join virtually. We'll also share inspirational images, tools, resources, and contacts to help competitors.

The Trip

Thanks to our generous partners, Windows & Doors by Brownell and Marvin, the Destination Colombia competition winner will travel with AIAVT to tour the unique architectural sites in Bogotá and Medellín, where they'll meet renowned Colombian architects, and connect with fellow AIA members on the trip. This is a once in a life time opportunity to experience an immersive architectural tour in a vibrant and dynamic country over the course of 10 days!

Competition Eligibility

Eligible participants include:

  • Students currently studying architecture in Vermont;
  • Vermont residents studying architecture outside the state;
  • AIAVT Associate Members with up to ten years of practice;
  • AIAVT Members (architect, associate, or allied) who are emerging professionals working in architecture or a related field and are within ten years of completing their academic studies or achieving initial licensure.

Competition Timeline

  • Sept 10: Kick off Presentation and Revealing of the Design Prompt
  • Oct. 23: Design Submission Deadline
  • Nov. 7: Awards Reception, Winner Announced!
