Efficiency Vermont and the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center/PAHCC in Middlebury are hosting a series of 4 Residential Building Systems trainings this fall at the PAHCC campus in Middlebury VT.

There will be two sessions of each training: a morning session from 9:00-10:30 and an afternoon session from Noon-1:30

Air-Sealing and Air-Barriers: Fundamentals and Details to Achieve Code-Compliance and Durability will be presented by Steve Spatz from Efficiency Vermont on November 3rd, 2026. This IS election day, so please vote before you come!

This session focuses on achieving low RBES-compliant air changes per hour by designing, installing, and verifying a continuous air barrier across the full building enclosure. Participants will explore how primary air barrier materials, tapes, adhesives, applied membranes, and control-layer transitions work together to create airtight pressure boundaries within building assemblies.
