Designers & Constructors Tee Off at Smugglers’ Notch

First Place went to Sam Howard of Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, and Daniel Carhart of Simpson Cabinetry
Second place went to Mike Washburn of JJ Flooring and Steve Ertle of the Sammel Group

On a beautiful summer day at the world-renowned Smuggler’s Notch Disc Golf Course, the Designers and Constructors Disc Golf Tournament brought together a spirited crowd of architects, builders, and industry professionals for a friendly — and for some, competitive — day on the course. The event was a partnership between AIA Vermont and the Associated Builders and Contractors of Vermont and New Hampshire (ABC VT/NH). We benefitted from clear skies, warm sunshine, and the kind of green mountain views that make Smuggs a bucket-list destination for disc golfers across the country.

Players of all skill levels took to the course with energy and enthusiasm, and after a full round of tight drives, tricky putts, and plenty of camaraderie, this year’s top honors went to Sam Howard of Fitzemeyer & Tocci Associates, and Daniel Carhart of Simpson Cabinetry, who finished the day in first place with a standout performance. Second place went to Mike Washburn of JJ Flooring, paired with Steve Ertle of the Sammel Group, and in third place was Ian Parker and Catherine Lange of VHFA. Mike Washburn also took home the "closest to the pin" award, and Sam Howard won the "Longest Drive" competition. Also deserving of accolades is Josh Chafe's two hole-in-one's, an impressive feat on a tough course.

Congratulations to all who participated — whether you hit the chains or just enjoyed the walk — and thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success.
