AIAVT is Seeking Applicants for the following Volunteer Positions:

AIAVT Licensing Advisor

As one of two AIAVT advisors, this 3 year volunteer position would be an opportunity to assist licensure candidates and architects as they navigate the path to licensure and reciprocity. Architect licensing advisors provide guidance throughout the licensure process by facilitating the flow of information to architecture students, licensure candidates, and architects.

AIAVT State Disaster Coordinator

AIA's Disaster Assistance Program is a nationwide network of architects to help communities before and after a disaster. AIAVT's State Disaster Coordinator is a resource for State and Goverment officials in the event of a disaster, and helps to assemble a team of volunteers should the need arise.

AIA Disaster Assistance training consists of learning to evaluate structures for safe access or use to enable people back into their homes or back to work. Volunteers are the Second Responders after the disaster is winding down. The initial training is a full day course. There is a day of additional coordination training to understand the command structure and mobilization procedure after a disaster.
