Honor Award in the Commercial/ Institutional/ Multi-Family/ Mixed Use category goes to Birdseye for Annex in Williston, VT.
Merit Award in the Commercial/ Institutional/ Multi-Family/ Mixed Use category goes to Bull Stockwell Allen for Rosebrook Lodge in Bretton Woods, NH.
Citation Award in the Commercial/ Institutional/ Multi-Family/ Mixed Use category goes to gbArchitecture for Bellows Falls Garage in Bellows Falls, VT.

The American Institute of Architects, Vermont Chapter (AIAVT) announced the recipients of its 2023 Excellence in Architecture Design Awards program at its annual meeting, held on December 7, 2023. Six projects were chosen for demonstrating  “excellence in design” from twenty seven entries submitted by AIA member architects. 

The jurors, all members of AIA Grand Rapids, included Ben Franceschi, AIA, Katie Potts, AIA, Tod R. Stevens, FAIA, Sarah Carter, Assoc. AIA, and Dan Tyrer, AIA. Details on the individual jury members can be found here. 

The jury was asked to consider granting awards using the AIA “Framework for Design Excellence” as their judging criteria. Awards were given at three levels: Honor (first), Merit (second), and Citation (third). The jury convened virtually and was facilitated by AIAVT’s Awards Committee Co-Chair, Jeff Stetter, AIA, and AIAVT’s Executive Director, Sarah O Donnell.  Details and images of each project can be found at https://www.aiavt.org/awards/23

Winners were announced by AIAVT’s Awards Committee Co-Chairs, Jeff Stetter, AIA and Ryan Edwards, AIA at the AIA Vermont 75th Anniversary Celebration at HULA in Burlington on December 7, 2023. AIA Vermont also announced the winners of the 75 Year Awards at the same event.
