This project has been developed by the following small workgroup: Adrienne Gil, Montpelier Resident and City of Montpelier, City Councilor, District 1, Sandy Vitzthum, Montpelier Resident and Architect, Bryan Jones, Montpelier Resident and Architect.

Join us in shaping the future of Montpelier! The Vision Montpelier: The Good Life contest invites students, architects, builders, developers, artists, athletes, and all community members from across the region to reimagine the Country Club Road property as a vibrant, inclusive, and resilient neighborhood.

Inspired by active living principles and proven strategies from communities around the world where people live the longest, healthiest lives—this contest emphasizes natural movement, social connection, a sense of purpose, access to local and nutritious food, economic stability, and inclusive design. These values align with Montpelier’s vision for a thriving, resilient neighborhood that promotes well-being for all. Building on the foundational 2022 work by White + Burke, this community-wide visioning contest focuses on creating a place designed for health, walkability, sustainability, and long-term tax stability. Whether you’re a seasoned designer or a passionate neighbor, your ideas can help us shape a community where people of all ages can truly live well—by design.
