Location: Online
In collaboration with regional stakeholders in the construction, housing, and forestry sectors, Smokey House Center is designing and building a pilot housing structure that will trial innovative uses of locally sourced wood products. Throughout this process, we aim to learn more about some of the key barriers limiting the use of local wood and wood products in building projects in the region. Your answers to the following questions will help us to identify some of these barriers, discover gaps in the local supply chain, and uncover opportunities for novel applications of different wood species and products. Please submit responses no later than August 1st.
Smokey House Center is a non-profit in Danby, VT that demonstrates ecologically sound farming and forestry through the management of its 5,000 acre property. The Living Lab, Smokey House’s keystone program, conducts applied land-based research that helps land managers build ecological and economic resiliency into regional food and forest systems.
