Norwich University Film Screening: Prickly Mountain and My Design Build Life

The School of Architecture and Art is pleased to announce its first lecture of the
2026-2027 series, Discerning Design: Vermont and Beyond.
Please join us on Friday, September 18 th at 1 pm in Mack Hall Auditorium at Norwich
University for a film screening of Prickly Mountain and My Design Build Life, followed
by a discussion with Director Allie Rood.

Allie Rood is a filmmaker, creative director, and outdoor storyteller. She graduated from
Whitman College with a BA in Studio Art with a focus on digital media and sculpture.
She has freelanced work on independent films as well as commercial work with
Patagonia and Nike to tell stories about the outdoor industry. Allies' first feature-length
film is based on her lived experience growing up in a Vermont design/build community.
Prickly Mountain and My Design/Build Life was released in October 2025 and was
featured in the Architecture and Design Film Festival, which toured to New York,
Toronto, Los Angeles, and Mumbai 1.5 LU’s (pending).
