Norwich University City Lab Berlin Speaker: Susanne Schädlich
Date: 2/12/26 12:00 PM
Location: Virtual
The Norwich University City Lab Berlin is hosting a virtual talk on Thursday, March 5th at noon VT time.
The speaker is Susanne Schädlich en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susanne_Sch%C3%A4dlich
Susanne Schädlich is an acclaimed and award-winning author, and we are very happy to be able to present her current work and research to our students.
In her work, German author Susanne Schädlich sheds light on micro-histories, the little known but all too important individual stories of the past. In her latest book, Schädlich reconstructed the biographies of German-Jewish exiles who fled the Nazis and tried to build up new lives and careers in the United States. Directors, actors, writers and many others who had respectable careers before 1933, suddenly found themselves confronted with being nameless and insignificant, torn between their new homeland and their old lives.
During this event, we will delve into the worlds of these individuals and discuss what it means when people are forced to give up everything.
