Norwich University’s School of Architecture + Art will host a Brown Bag
lecture with a familiar face, Professor Daniel Sagan, in Chaplin Hall Gallery at noon on Wednesday,
February 28. A virtual option, bit.ly/42UgkqY, is available for those who are unable to attend in
person.
Associate Professor Danny Sagan is the co-founder of DS Architects in Vermont. As a graduate from
Yale, Sagan practiced and shared design build for 10 years alongside his wife where they share a design
practice based in Montpelier, VT. From net zero housing to design build and history, Sagan
demonstrates a strong range of understanding. Sagan believes that at its core architecture is about beauty
and complexity of thought.
Sagan taught at Howard for three weeks alongside Professor Nea Maloo where he studied the
relationship of ornament to fractal geometry.
He will present research from a 2022-2023 Independent Study Leave - “Forming Fractals, Shaping
Symmetries: A Design/Build Approach to Biophilic Ornament in Architecture.”
