Come join fellow Vermont Green Building Network (VGBN) members and building trades professionals for our autumn Building Science (BS) and Beer gathering featuring a walk in the woods with von Trapp Family Lodge and Resort's forester followed by a gathering in the von Trapp Bierhall in Stowe, VT.
Join us as the leaves turn on the spectacular von Trapp property in late September to learn more about the properties forest stewardship practices to be followed by a Building Science (BS) and Beer gathering featuring a discussion focused on the forest to building process in the von Trapp Bierhall. We will commence our time at von Trapp with networking and socializing!
Event Agenda:
3:00pm - Arrival, check in and introductions at the Outdoor Center at von Trapp Family Lodge
3:10pm - Guided walk in the woods with von Trapp's consulting forester, Allan Thompson, to see demonstrations of the kinds of forest stewardship and management that is taking place on the von Trapp property.
4:15pm - Arrive back at Outdoor Center and travel to Bierhall
4:30-6:00pm - Building Science (BS) and Beer gathering in von Trapp Bierhall's Observation Deck featuring a discussion with von Trapp's Executive Vice President, Walter Frame, about the Bierhall building construction, including the architecture and wood sourcing. We will leave time for an additional Q+A and facilitated discussion with von Trapp's forester and attendees, with networking and socializing to follow!
Free for VGBN Members; $15 for non-member and general admission
