These pandemic years have brought significant challenges across all areas of life. These years have also brought a wave of federal funding into Vermont in the form of the Covid Relief Fund (CRF) and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). The State of Vermont opted to designate a significant portion of these funds to housing. This webinar aims to examine and discuss how some of these funds were used to help address another crisis that Vermont is facing: the availability of affordable housing.

During this educational event and panel discussion, attendees will hear from an array of speakers, and will learn about the successes, challenges and lessons learned from affordable housing projects that received some of this funding. Speakers and projects featured will include the following:

- Introduction and overview of the CRF and ARPA funds led by Craig Peltier, Director of Asset Management and Project Design at the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board (VHCB)
- Case study featuring the Rutland Area Bridge Housing project, a community response to the region's growing homelessness issue. This presentation will be facilitated by Kevin Loso, Executive Director of the Rutland Housing Authority with other guest speakers including Brittanie Bradley (NBF Architects), Tanner Romano (Naylor & Breen), Mike McCarthy (SunCommon), and Joey Dorwart Crane (Sunovision). Funding, design issues, construction, solar system design and installation, and monitoring and performance issues will be covered.
- Case study featuring the Whitlestop Mobile Home Park, where Downstreet Housing delivered three new Zero Energy Modular homes to this mobile home park in need of investment in downtown Bradford, VT. This presentation will be facilitated by Peter Schneider, manager of Efficiency Vermont's Zero Energy Modular program, and Nicola Anderson, Director of Real Estate Development for Downstreet Housing.

A live Q+A and panel discussion will follow the presentations.
